Environmental Literacy

The International Community School, as part of the Skola organisation, is committed to understanding and improving our management of the environment - with classroom and curricular activity, organic food and recycled materials. We run twice yearly expeditions to fragile rainforest and coral reef eco-systems such as the Amazon Rainforest and the Maldives.

Linked to this is the use of our beautiful campus on the Suffolk Coast. The International Community School in Bawdsey houses our fields studies centre, yacht club and environmental literacy unit and is available to the London students. There is an extra charge for school trips.

Special Educational Needs

The International Community School has a professional and well established Special Educational Needs department with around 15 therapists and the ability to cater to a wide variety of learning needs.

Around 12% of our students have some learning challenges, about average for London schools, but we feel that international students and their families come with an additional set of requirements. Our team will draw up an individual education plan that combines language learning strategies with strategies for students with learning difficulties.

Transport

Transport to and from school is the responsibility of parents/guardians.

Parents/guardians should accompany students to school on the first day.

Be safe and use our school door-to-door minibus service.
