Learn-to-draw Books

Work examples: DRAW WATER AND OTHER THINGS and DRAW QUEENS, KINGS AND ALL THINGS ROYAL. Layout design, illustrations for cover, illustrations for inside content and final artwork for the printing process for both books.

Irene met Linda Nissen Samuels, Artist and Author, whilst exhibiting her paintings at “The Untitled Artists Fair” in Chelsea, London. She was immediately captivated by Linda's ideas for the book DRAW WATER AND OTHER THINGS, a book to teach children and adults how to draw.

The book was launched in 2011 and since then it has been a success, selling in major art galleries and shops such as Waterstones, Cass Art, The Courtauld Gallery, Eden Project, Tate St. Ives, City Art Centre, Pullingers, Tate Britain and Tate Modern.

Linda has two YouTube videos about the book, which you can watch from the links below:

Because of its success, they decided to create a second book with a royal theme. In 2015 DRAW QUEENS, KINGS AND ALL THINGS ROYAL was lauched, and in the year of the Queen's 90th birthday, has sold well. It can be bought at the Buckingham Palace gift shop and online via The Royal Collection website.

Irene and Linda have been running numerous workshops using both books in Waterstones and Cass Art in London. Also in primary schools and within charity organisations, where children and adults with learning difficulties can develop their artistic skills. Both women find the experience very rewarding. Children come saying they can't draw, but at the end of the hour have created a whole new composition with many lovely drawings. These books are also used as an aid in Art Therapy sessions.

Both books can be found for sale on Amazon or:
